About Image Brightness Editor

Use Image Brightness Editor locally in your browser. Your image stays on your device.

Does this tool send my data anywhere?

No. Its calculation or transformation happens on your device.

Using Image Brightness Editor with the right inputs

Apply a brightness adjustment to an uploaded image. Start by matching your task to the quantities and options shown below. The definitions of the inputs matter as much as the final number or transformed output; retain the original values so that you can repeat or check the result.

Inputs and options explained

  • Image file: choose a local source file and keep the original. The file selector accepts image/*. Check that the file contents match the intended format; renaming an extension does not convert a file.

A practical first-file check

Make a small test file containing the same kind of data as your real file. Keep a copy of the original, choose the settings above and run the operation. Compare the result with the changes you expected before processing the full document. File size, browser memory and the source format can affect whether a large input is usable.

Interpretation and limitations

Inspect a preview at its intended display size before replacing the original image. Dimensions, transparency and format compatibility matter separately from file size. Repeatedly exporting an already compressed image can change its appearance; retain the original for future adjustments.

Should I overwrite my original image?

Keep the original and save the processed image separately. Compare detail, edges, transparency and dimensions in the application where the image will be used.

Before you use the output

  • Choose the intended action: Edit image. Re-run the operation after changing an input or mode so that you are checking the updated result.
  • Read the result label and any accompanying explanation. Keep the input values or source file with the output so that a later comparison uses the same assumptions.
  • If a result looks unexpected, check units, separators and selected options first. Try a smaller example you can verify rather than repeatedly changing several settings at once.

Questions or a result that needs checking?

If you find a discrepancy, report a problem with Image Brightness Editor. Include a non-sensitive example, the selected options, the result you expected and the result shown. This makes the issue easier to reproduce. See About & privacy for how the site handles tool inputs.
